Team Building

Our GROUP curriculum promotes the power of teamwork and the importance of the individual. Each “GROUP” session is designed to achieve a specific objective which ranges from cooperation and communication to acceptance and understanding.

A group of campers discusses what it means to be an Elmwood camper.

During the first week of camp each group begins the process of identification and bonding by creating their group’s name. Some of our most notable have been “Disco Superstars”, “FireBreathing Super Chickens”, “Happy Rainbow Elephants”, “Purple Puppy Pandas” and “Supersonics”.

Each GROUP session is led by the group’s Division Head. It has a designated theme, a cooperative activity and a wrap- up discussion. Under the direction of the Division Head, GROUP reinforces our beliefs about what it means to be an Elmwood camper.
