Week 4 was an exceptional week! The weather was glorious which created the perfect environment for campers to continue to strengthen their friendships, try new things, and learn what it means to be part of a team.
The week started with our very own Election day. We were looking for a new Prime-minister of Tanyaville. Campers met Ronald, Ernie, and Willary. We even had our our own Wolf Blitzer and mock debate. Wolf was so unhappy with the candidates that he asked for another person to run in the election. Luckily, Captain Fun arrived. Votes were cast and Captain Fun won!!
Thursday was our EWD Games. Campers and staff arrived dressed in four different colors and ready to play. We learned that the EWD Games stand for sportsmanship, trying new things, fairness and teamwork. We had many different types of events such as water games, games with balls, puzzle games, running games and team-building games. At the closing ceremonies, the captains competed in silly events against each other and the winners of the different challenges were announced. We all had an incredible day filled with spirit and fun!
Here are the Top Ten Reasons Week 4 four was the best week yet:
10.) Our G1 and B1 campers had evening parent visiting. Campers loved being able to show their parents Elmwood and of course parents loved being able to see their kids swim. The evenings ended with a wonderful BBQ.
9.) Amazing stained glass projects on the A&C porch.
8.) A hike for our oldest campers and they found it exhilarating.
7.) Macaroni & cheese made from scratch.
6.) All of the terrific T-Shirts on favorite T-shirt day.
5.) Golf as a choice in 4th grade sports choice.
4.) A very silly puppet show at a Stepping Stones Morning morning meeting, Mystery Guest at Lower Village morning meeting and Trivia at Upper Village morning meeting.
3.) Morning clubs which included EWD Cheer Squad, Nature Art Fusion, Sleepover Party, Wooden Zoos at Woodworking, Pokemon Club, Kickin’ it on the Court, Broadway Showstoppers, Lacrosse, and Wire Bird Sculptures.
2.) 71 campers passed a new swim level.

Suzanne’s Recipe of the Week: Monkey Bread
- 4-6 cans of biscuit dough
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoon cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
Spray a 13 × 9 inch pan. Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl. Open the biscuit dough and break each circle into 4 pieces. Roll the dough into balls and roll in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Repeat until all the dough is used. It’s ok to smooch the dough balls together. Mix the remaining sugar/cinnamon mixture into the melted butter and pour over dough. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.
